Sodexho named as Top 100 Company that Counts

Sodexho has been named in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies that Count supplement following the publication of the 2005 Corporate Responsibility (CR) Index results by Business in the Community (BITC)

Since its development in 2002, more than 200 of the largest UK companies have used the Index as a benchmarking tool. The Index covers four key impact areas (Community, Environment,
Marketplace and Workplace) and captures the extent to which corporate responsibility is integrated into corporate strategy and translated into responsible business practice throughout an
organisation.

For Sodexho, corporate responsibility is about doing the right thing - it is a fundamental part of its every day business practice. Phil Hooper, corporate affairs director at Sodexho says: “To be
included in the top 100 of BITC's CR Index is great news and comes at a time when we have recently published our first CR report.

“CR is not a new concept for us, but something that has always been core to our business philosophy. Through our business, we touch the lives of many people, from our 48,000 employees
to the millions of customers we serve. Our challenge is to ensure that we are managing those relationships responsibly, and at the same time enabling our business to thrive.”

In 2005, Sodexho became a member of BITC's PerCent Club, a voluntary benchmark, measuring the contributions made by companies through cash donations, staff time, gifts in kind and
management time, shown as a percentage of pre-tax profits. It recognises corporate giving, raising awareness by reporting publicly and encouraging companies to compare themselves.

Last year (2005) Sodexho launched the Sodexho Foundation, a registered charity (Charity No: 1110266). Its objectives are to educate and provide relief from financial hardship in relation to
health, nutrition and wellbeing through the provision of grants, goods and/or services.

Since its launch the Sodexho Foundation has provided significant donations to the two charities it currently supports, FareShare2 and NCH3, as well as a valuable donation for the third year running of £6,000 to Feed the Children International (UK) which organises regular breakfast clubs for disadvantaged children in Bristol and Birmingham.
