BSA Appoints New Chairman

Phil has extensive experience in the catering and business services industry, having worked for Sodexho, previously Gardner Merchant, for over 30 years. He has been involved in a number of roles across the business including sales, operations and communications.

Phil is currently corporate affairs director for Sodexho, the UK's leading provider of catering and integrated facilities management services, and is responsible for all the company's internal and external communications.

Commenting on his new role, Phil said, “I am delighted to have been appointed as chairman of the BSA as I believe the organisation plays a key role in communicating with key stakeholders in our industry. The BSA represents 19 companies, which employ well over half a million people, and my main objective, as chairman, will be to raise our awareness, particularly with government, given the valuable role we play.”

Norman Rose, Chief Executive of the BSA, said, “Sodexho is one of BSA's original founding members and it is a particular pleasure to welcome Phil as our new chairman. He brings with him a wide range of business experience which I know will add much to our work during the coming year, as well as a long involvement with BSA, latterly as Chair of our Communications Committee.”
In addition to his role at Sodexho and the BSA, Phil is also joint Vice Chairman of the British Hospitality Association's Food and Service Management Forum.
